I’m a lead software contractor with more than 25 years of experience delivering business-critical systems, modernising established platforms and helping teams solve difficult problems.
My background spans healthcare, government services, automation, e-commerce, finance, logistics and cloud platforms. I have led delivery, written production code, improved struggling systems and joined established teams when experienced technical ownership was needed.
I remain a hands-on developer, but the value I bring goes beyond writing code. I can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, mentor other engineers and keep delivery focused on useful outcomes.
Reliability matters to me. Many of my contracts have been extended repeatedly, and previous clients describe me as dependable, thorough and able to take ownership of complex work. I enjoy joining a team, understanding the real problem quickly and leaving systems in a better state than I found them.
Outside work, family has shaped my patience and resilience. Supporting my son through more than ten years of competitive swimming, including his success as a British champion, reinforced the value of preparation, consistency and showing up when the work is demanding.
